A little back story, I lost my Maqu (dad) on the 13th of December 2022???? 'Malakai Lalanawasawasa Nalawa'. Born on the 12th of May 1961. His late Mum 'Losalini Bouwaqa' passed away a little after giving birth to my late dad. So my dad never got to meet his mum, the only memory he had of his late mum was the photograph in the video.
My Maqu was brought up by his aunties and uncles (his late mum's siblings) from the 'Tokatoka' (immediate family name) - "SESENIBUA."
I created this track as a tribute to my beautiful family of the 'Tokatoka Sesenibua' of my village Drauniivi, Vatukaloko, RA. Heartfelt appreciation for my late Maqu's upbringing❤️
'Maraia' (model in the video) represents the Vanua Vatukaloko, it's people and also my late grandmother. For without her sacrifice, I wouldn't be alive today.
